The evolution of the RM 030
Introduced in 2011, the RM 030 combines an automatic movement with a decoupling rotor, a power-reserve indicator and a date display.
The idea behind it: a rotor that keeps spinning with a fully wound mainspring causes unnecessary wear. The mechanism automatically decouples it, protecting the movement.
As is customary for Richard Mille, the reference came in a broad range of materials: titanium, rose gold, white gold, NTPT Carbon, plus a series of limited country editions.
Within the collection, the RM 030 is regarded as the comparatively restrained automatic — no chronograph, but with especially clear movement architecture.
